‘Lorne Real Estate – Market Round up’.  According to the Real Estate Institute of Victoria house prices in Melbourne have fallen 5.2% over 12 months ended December 31, 2011. Real Estate Institute Chief Executive Enzo Raimondo cited ‘lower consumer confidence, a slowing state economy and an increase in supply” as key drivers in the current market. The coastal property scene has followed a similar trend with the “spill over” and downturn of consumer confidence being severely felt on the coastal corridor through the summer period. But we all know that Lorne is too great a place for confidence to be down for too long.

Although the same cannot be said about the Lorne property market there has been some better signs in the second half of January than the first. Add these to the sold stickers inPolwarth Road, Otway Street, Great Ocean Road and Toorak Terrace and what has been a slow start, all of a sudden starts to gather a little momentum. Lorne Real Estate Open Inspections January 14 – 16

Lorne – Market Round up’. As the thousands of Lorne visitors began to put their champagne glasses down after a hectic couple of weeks celebrating Christmas and the New Year, the Lorne property market has slowly started to come to life. With three sales in the past seven days and a number of other properties with genuine interest “circling” the market is tensely poised.

The now worlds largest open water swim the Pier to Pub was also a sellout with 5,000 swim miners taking part in the 1.2km ocean swim. With a field of competitors that included the likes of Tony Abbott, Ted Baillieu, Cameron Ling, and Joel Sellwood the profile of the race was always going to be sky high and the publicity for the entire coast fantastic!

Merry Christmas 2011 from Lorne Real Estate
