Lorne – Market Round Up
Over the next couple of weeks I want to share with you some statistical information about the Lorne Township and the Surf Coast Shire within which we are positioned. The Surfcoast Shire, which includes the townships of Aireys Inlet, Anglesea, Deans Marsh, Fairhaven, Jan Juc, Lorne, Moriac, Torquay and Winchelsea.
Our Shire spans some 1,560 sq. kilometres, has 20,141 properties, boasts a population of 28,282 and a Gross Regional production value of $924 million.
Critical to achieving sustainable growth is the unique natural surrounds which includes world famous beaches, pristine coastal areas and National Parks.
These national assets are a corner store in attracting 1.67 million visitors who expend over $410 million annually visiting the Surf Coast Shire.
Lorne – Weekly Report
The talk of Lorne today has been snow falling up behind us at Erskine Falls, with a consistent blanket covering of “The Falls” festival site. A great spectacle that saw locals “snapping away” and enjoying the rare sight.
As is the norm through this time of the year real estate activity has been slow and historically August has never been much different. With no school holidays or long weekends break through the month it is a time when many locals will recharge the batteries before the Spring and Summer kicks into action.
Albeit a quieter week with one contracted Erskine House and a second vacant allotment negotiation nearing completion, the cogs of Lorne are still turning and there are some good buys on offer for those that are on the look out.
