Our Backyard

The spring racing carnival is well and truly underway and Wednesday’s Geelong Cup was highlight for many local people. None more so than Lorne holiday home owner Anthony Mithen whose champion horse, Runaway, won the mid week event with his locally bred horse. Mithen who is owner and manager of the Rosemount Stud at Gnarwarre near Geelong is also a passionate Lorne fan and describes this win as his “crowning moment”.

Spring on the coast is a great time to be enjoying Lorne and with weather getting better day by day there is no nicer place in the world. While the horses were jostling for position in the Geelong Cup I hosted members of our team for a brief celebratory lunch at the Pier Sea-food restaurant. It was so good to see so many others enjoying the same, but what was of most interest was the diversity of International guests that were also experiencing and photographing Lorne at its absolute best!

Both buyers and sellers tend to be most active through our premium months between October and Easter, and this year is shaping up to be no different. Over the past week our team has been busy fine tuning a fine book of stock across all market segments which are sure to gain buyer attention over the coming weeks.

With successful sale’s in the Mirvac constructed Chalet development and a residential property at Wye River buyers also continue to be active.

This week we celebrated the latest of our valued Great Ocean Road Real Estate team members to join 60 year plus club. Happy Birthday Kerry and for the record I’m closing in pretty quickly to be the 4th!
