Our Backyard

As we continue to roll through summer, albeit only three weeks remain, it sits on everyone’s lips that its been one of the best recent decades and our thousands of visitors surely would leave our region with their expectations reached and desires to return set to be reality. There is still plenty happening and with continued good weather patterns, still great times ahead. This weekend the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club continues their busy summer as they host the Victorian Surf Life Saving Masters State Championships on Saturday on the Lorne beach. A fortnight later our local club will host the Victorian Surf Life Saving Junior Carnival and with over 1500 competitors plus family members and friends this is guaranteed to be a massive weekend for Lorne. On the back of these big events the town is also hosting the annual cancer conferences which have made Lorne home for in excess of the past twenty years.

Without doubt the buzz within real estate circles through the past week has been the upward construction of the prestige Oceania development. With the extensive steel work form the basis of the structure including lift wells, cantilevered balconies, floor structures and framing components the much-anticipated commencement is well underway. With only three residences remaining and with the building size, strength of construction, amazing northerly views and pre-Christmas 2019 completion on site, don’t miss the opportunity to place yourselves in one of Lorne’s best developments.

The first week of February has, thank goodness, shown that the Lorne market still has a pulse! With the contracted sale of 1 Skyline Court within 10% of its $1.345 asking price it was a welcome start to the month. With the completion and delivering of the outcomes of the Banking Commission complete, the departure of a couple of Corporate Banking leaders and the Australian Financial markets experiencing their largest gains in two years, the emergence of positive sentiment is very welcome!
