LORNE – HERE AND THERE

The curtain is finally down on what has been one of Lorne’s best summers in many years. The weather pattern looks set to cotinine over the next week which will ensure the vibe continues. Its such a great time to be on the coast and there are many who share the same belief. On Wednesday I ran into a lovely couple from Toronto, Canada who had spent the last six weeks travelling and golfing through New Zealand and the east coast of Australia. On completion of their nine holes, I asked them how they found it – “Man, so god dam pretty but with no carts, that’s a serious cardiac workout!” After explaining we had no ride on carts, no pro-shop, no mid-week permanent bar staff, they were in awe of the environment they had just experienced. Later that same day and just by chance, those same international visitors were leaving Mark’s restaurant where we chatted again and I asked how he enjoyed his meal – “Man, you are so god dam lucky you’ve got everything in this beautiful town and I love the spirit here!”

LORNE – MARKET ROUND UP

The sleeping giant that has been the “Lorne property market” has been slowly awakening as many have returned home after one of the best holiday periods we have experienced. In what was our quietest January, only three transactions were recorded for the entire month, we certainly held concerns for the months ahead. After reporting early in the month that the market had a “pulse”, we can gladly report that a heart beat has returned. The last month of summer have seen us double plus a bit, the number of January transactions in a welcome return from the disappointment of January.
