Our Backyard

The first week of autumn has started just as well as summer finished with temperatures getting no lower than the mid-twenties, numbers around town continuing to be strong and the chance to take a breath and reflect on the summer that was. Confirmed by most as one of our ‘best ever’, it was a beauty on almost every front. This weekend’s Labour Day long weekend will again see the town bursting at the seams and host of various activities for all to enjoy. Also exciting to hear that Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson will be in Lorne delivering some very exciting news for the entire Lorne community.

It was great to be able to support a great group of Lorne ladies that participated in the Barwon Heads Triathlon last weekend. Our very own Karen Stribling, third from the left, did us all proud as she made her multiple discipline debut. Well done to all the girls – great effort by all involved.

Its been great to be able to report that following the disastrous month of January that the Lorne property market is fighting back. We were able to achieve our seasonally adjusted February budget which in late January almost looked like an impossible feat! As we push into March, the positive vibe has continued, albeit that the work involved in every deal is more intense than of recent years, but that’s fine as long as we have a market to work with. With a handful of new autumn listings under a million dollars, and a continuing good book of stock it remains a good time to be transacting in the Lorne market.

It was great to see our much loved, for so many different reasons, team member Tyrone Provan was awarded the Rate My Agent Lorne agent of the year for 2019. A much deserved accolade for our very popular Vespa driving colleague – well done Ty.

Hard to believe that the local football season is all but upon us. The first game for the locals is Saturday 23rd of March when the Dolphins line up against Warrnambool Old Collegians for the first official practice match of 2019.
