LORNE – HERE AND THERE

Isolation in Lorne has been pretty damn special with the opportunity to enjoy a lot of the little things that have always contributed to our special beauty. To see the large numbers that have been out walking the beaches and exploring many of the magnificent bush walks that are all on our door step. One of the must do is the recently opened track from Separation Creek to the Jamieson River. It is a relatively easy walk of just over four kilometers. Having spoken with a number that have completed the walk, you have the option to either park at Separation Creek and do the return walk of just under 10 k’s or go with friends, leave one of the cars at Jamieson, then continue on and park at Wye River. Once you complete the walk, drive the parked car from Jamieson back to Wye for a great coffee at the General Store. Whatever your stage of fitness, the choice is yours but the views of the coastline and Southern Ocean from the numerous vantage points are sure to make the track a very popular choice for walkers. Along the journey make sure you take a good look at the new Jamieson Camp Ground which has been so tastefully put together.

LORNE – MARKET ROUND UP

It’s been a little bit more positive in the local market over the past week having successfully contracted two sales and a third negotiation underway. The under current comment from our team has been the noticeable increase in buyer enquiry over the past week. Although we still have a long way to go as we tackle the ongoing consequences of COVID-19, it appears there is at least light at the end of the tunnel.

The two encouraging sales through the past week was a good result at Wye River of just in excess of $1.5 million and the storage facility in the Lorne Industrial Estate setting a new benchmark.

On the back of this week’s sixth straight weekly increase in Australian consumer confidence, 21% of Australian’s say their families are “better off” financially, 36% (unchanged) expect their family to be “better off” financially this time next year, compared to 20% (down 1 point) that expect to be worse off financially. Lets hope that “normal times” are not too far way!

LORNE – A LITTLE SECRET

If you are lucky enough to be in Lorne abiding by the “stay at home” regulations you must try MoVida and/or the Lorne Hotel takeaway menu. For those that want something special the MoVida set menu is exceptional, while the bangers and mash from the Lorne Hotel are a great old favourite.

LORNE – QUOTE OF THE WEEK
