Our Backyard

The town is gearing up for a bumper summer season and there have been some great things happening around Lorne through the winter months – none more exciting than the much anticipated Live Wire adventure park on the Erskine Falls Road adjacent to Lorne’s Industrial Estate.

The vision of Chris and Luke Nisbett, the park is scheduled to open on the Australia Day weekend in January after years going through bureaucracy and red tape to eventually bring it up to reality. The French built eco-friendly, world class tree top course will feature a series of rope courses, zip lines and climbing walls among the tree tops behind Lorne.

In what is being touted as a game changer for tourism activities in Lorne, the new park also brings with it in excess of ten permanent jobs and a great number of seasonal work opportunities. It is also significant to note that it is the first “man made” tourist attraction to benefit the of visitors to Lorne – bring it on!

A significant week on the property front in Lorne for a range of different reasons and opportunities. It can’t go without passing that one of the most stunning homes than we have ever been instructed to market is the residence on 1.4 acres of land at 1200 Great Ocean Road, Big Hill. Words cannot describe the luxury and extravagance provided within, but I think the video will give you a good idea. Check it out here. An amazing history in its short life and I’m sure if it is good enough for the Rolling Stones, then you would love it too!

A productive week on the sale front with a north Lorne beachfront home being contracted for in excess of $1.5 million and an Otway Street residence for just under $800,000. The early vibe of the property market is promising, especially in the lower to middle range but we feel confident that this will soon “creep” into the top end of the market also.

Great to hear that there is a new family friendly restaurant opening at the Lorne Country Club on the 16th of December – call the club for further details.

“Opportunities are like sunrises – if you wait too long you may miss them”.
