LORNE – MARKET ROUND UP

The Pier to Pub weekend historically will be huge and the week following will see the town take a “deep breathe”, put the champagne glasses down (well maybe lifted less frequently) and a more normal pattern return to holiday enjoyment. It’s similar with our market where traditionally the back half of January is always stronger than the front, albeit this year has been stronger than most. A good past week has seen the sale of the new residence in Hopetoun Terrace at just under $1.2 million, a rear lower level Kalimna Apartment in the low $800’s and two Mantra apartments and a vacant allotment at Wye River. All in all a good lead in to what we hope will be a good couple of months ahead in the Lorne market.

A LITTLE SECRET

The world’s largest open water swim has its first event starting at 12:30pm sharp on Saturday and it will be local Stephan Love who stands alone at the end of the Lorne Pier to fire the shotgun and get the swimmers underway with the last of the 25 “waves” under the starters gun at 3:10pm.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“Become one of the rare people who don’t know how to quit”.
