Lorne – Market Round UP The last week of the fiscal year is always a busy time of the financial year and a great time for the numbers to be entering the spreadsheets and the K.P.I’s coming out the other end to point the picture on the data. Our forecasts have been that the average house price is likely to have softened through the past twelve months but increased volumes of transactions and the diminishing supply are almost certain to ensure this trend does not continue. Next week I will share with you the first results to ensure that you have access to the best real estate information available on the coast – stay tuned!

STOP PRESS!! You may or may not have read the recent press reported that the Surfcoast Shire has abandoned their intention to implement a commercial rate for holiday rental property owners. There were over 80 submissions on behalf of non-residential property owners and just over 70 of these were from property owners within our portfolio, being led by our accommodation manager Matt Neill. It was a surprise to me that no other management companies around the coast made submissions or presentations to the shire, but then again not a major surprise!


Lorne – Weekly Report The month of June rallied to represent a solid finish to the financial year and from a company perspective allowed us to finish ahead of budget on the increased volume of transactions. It continues to intrigue that certain sectors of our market out performing others only kilometres away. The highlight of the month were the two million dollar plus sales in Summerhills Avenue and Great Ocean Road just at a time when many would think that we were inactive! If you’re in Lorne this weekend get up to the Stribling Reserve on Sunday and cheer on the Dolphins as our local football and netball teams do battle with Simpson.
