LORNE – HERE AND THERE

Hard to believe that we are almost half way through the last month of winter and knocking on the door to spring. But then again, the 35 ml of rain over the past week is a good reminder that its not over year. It’s the time of the year that the local winter sport begins to approach their last home games for the season. If you’re in Lorne for the weekend, get up to the Stribling Reserve and support the locals as they prepare for the 2018 finals series. The Dolphins are well positioned to have all four football sides in the final series for the first time in a number of years. Our netballers unfortunately have not had the same success but it was always going to be hard to follow up on the A & B Grade premierships that the girls achieved last year.

LORNE – MARKET ROUND UP

A relatively slow start to August but that’s not unusual given the seasonality of our coastal markets. The outstanding result of the past week has been without doubt the sale of 15 Normanby Terrace, Lorne setting a new record for the street selling in the quoted range of $1.2 to $1.3 million. The lovely five-bedroom residence set over two levels and superbly crafted with the very best of fittings and finishes was deserved of creating the new bench mark for the street.

With a couple of other negotiations nearing completion, the last month of winter is shaping up as a solid month and providing further confidence for those looking to transact in the Lorne market.

OPEN HOUSES THIS WEEKEND

LORNE – A LITTLE SECRET

Its hard to grasp that while a large portion of our country is in drought, here in Lorne our water supply at the Allen Dam sits at 100% full and our rainfall charts have us well on track to reach our yearly average.

QUOTE FOR THE WEEK
