LORNE – HERE AND THERE

Ah spring, what a great time of the year it is, the days are getting longer, the airs getting warmer and the MCG plays host to the majority of finals football as the leading AFL clubs fight out the right to contest the 2018 Grand Final. On the local scene the interests around football is just as strong and this year the Lorne Dolphins have achieved the very rare feat of having all four teams (U/14’s, U/17’s, reserves and seniors) all playing in the Preliminary Final and challenging for a final spot in the battle for the 2018 Premiership Cup.

Its been a huge year for our local club both on and off the field and on Wednesday evening Lorne’s premier ruckman Mark McCormack took out the 2018 Colac and District Football League Best & Fairest Award. In doing so, Mark became only the fifth player in league history to win back to back best & fairest awards – a super achievement and all the very best of luck to all Lorne teams on Saturday!

LORNE – MARKET ROUND UP

Just as much hype on the local real estate front over the past week with our team members juggling appointments with buyers and sellers with a number of negotiations nearing the “pointy end” and a couple of conditional contracts all but have their conditions met. The sale of the week was the meticulously appointed three bedroom, two bathroom residence at 13 Clissold Street sited on a smaller low maintenance 409 sqm allotment within easy walking distance of Mountjoy Parade. This residence sold for very close to its $1.225 million asking price in a relatively short time.

The Lorne property market, along with our local coastal neighbours, and also Geelong continues to be strong, while the murmurings of the Melbourne market appear to be nowhere near as vibrant as they were twelve months ago.
