Lorne – Market Round UP
Big news of the week was the Reserve Bank of Australia keeping the cash rate at 2.5% as they continue to endeavour to kick start the economy. On the back of last month’s Federal Budget and the weakening of consumer confidence the Reserve Bank appears to be concerned by the lack of stimulus across most sectors.
The Melbourne property market according to R. P. Data saw Melbourne’s average house price soften by in excess of 3% for the month of May albeit the volumes of competed sales were strong.

Lorne – Weekly Report
Great to be able to report that after an extended auction campaign the Lorne Theatre has been officially sold at just under $2 million. Early reports are that the new owners are looking to maintain the building in its current format over the next couple of years as they plan their next moves around the restoration of the building.
Winter has started slowly with buyers hibernating earlier than expected but still with some great buyer opportunities available in Lorne. One of the best buys on the coast at the moment is the architect designed 3 year old home at 22 Great Ocean Road. Check it out at here and being listed at $1,595,000 there is not a better value for money property currently available on the coast.
If you’re in town this weekend there’s a lot going on with the Dolphins playing host to Colac Imperials on Saturday, and on Sunday a fishing competition at the Lorne Angling and Aquatic Club, the Model Boat Regatta Sunday morning on the Erskine River and the official launch of the Lorne Performing Arts Festival on Sunday afternoon at Qdos.
